In 2002, we have added a new KAMAS Knife Mill to supplement our regular hammermill defibration.  The knife mill can process diaper, paper rolls, or waste fiber of all types into smaller fibers or ribbons depending on which screens are used.  A two stage system (with a second stage of regular hammermill) can produce surprisingly good results with materials that are normally land filled or used for lesser grades.

Also in 2002 we have added a frequency controlled motor to our KAMAS hammermill which allows the main motor speed to be easily varied.  This is not normally found in commercial operations but it allows for optimizing defibration conditions for more fragile pulp materials and is an extremely valuable addition to the pilot plant.  

Finally we have also greatly improved the available vacuum on the DanWeb Former to extreme levels allowing processing of very difficult fibers.
